Question:

     Is loving Jesus a feeling or do you just know? I prayed asking the Lord for the Holy Spirit and I don't think anything has happened. I guess I have it in my mind that I should feel something. So then I question if I'm doing it in my mind that I should feel something. So them I question if I'm doing things like trying to do right, read my bible and etc. if I'm doing it out of the flesh or really following the Holy Spirit. I'm new at this and I feel like I am all by myself. The letter goes on..........

Answer:

     Dear "Help Me!",.....your question: "Is loving Jesus a feeling or do you just know?"

     That is a very good question and the answer is... Yes. You "know" that you,  "know," that you "know", Jesus is real and that He loves you and you love Him. Feelings are different for everyone and where I might feel strongly about the Lord you might need more time. Don't beat yourself up about your spiritual level. 

     We are all at different levels of faith. If you give me sometime, I believe that I can help you to spiritually grow. I believe that I can, with the help of the Holy Spirit, pull out of you a deep love for the Lord. It's a faith walk and you ...can...walk it. All you need is a little help.

     John 13:34-35 A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

First things first. Let me ask you a few questions.
1) Do you know Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior?

2) Have you been born again?

3) Is Jesus real to you, as real as I am to you?

4) When you pray, do you feel like you are praying (talking to a close friend)? Or do you feel like you are praying to someone a little far away? Like you are all alone or with someone close by?

5) If you were to die today or next week, do you know if you would go to Heaven? Do you really know for sure? That is a serious question we all need to ask ourselves.

     You see a lot of people if I ask them if they are born again? They will say yes! Do they know Jesus as their Lord and Savior? Again they will say yes. When I start really asking them just how they really feel about Jesus and what their relationship is to Him, they start to falter. They don't really understand what being born again is.

     Second thing I want you to know is that you are not alone, I'm here and I will help you. I do understand what you are going through. "To love Jesus is to love one another. To love Jesus is to look at people through His eyes of love at them. Our own selfish self centered desires  make us concentrate on looking at the me, me, me, and I, I , I side of life. When Jesus is your Lord and Savior then you look out at people with love. "We love, because He first loved us" (1 John 4:19).

     Pride, envy, jealousy and conceit often separate us from God's true love and we put up a barrier. We need to turn away from sin and repent. It's the ABCs..

A=Acknowledge and Accept that you have sin,

B=Believe that John 3:16, "For God so
loved the world, that
He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever
believes in Him should
not perish, but have eternal life."

C=Confess those sins before the Lord with a repentant heart.

D=Daily know that Jesus Died on the cross for your sins.

E=Eternal life can be yours just for the asking. It's a free gift!

F=Forever in you'll be in Heaven when you believe.

G=God is a Great God to Give us the Greatest Gift of all time, Salvation through Jesus Christ His H=Heaven is our reward and it's for all eternity when we have asked Jesus to come into our hearts.

     I was raised in church and went just about every week. I prayed and if you asked me, "If I was a christian?" I would have said, "Yes." I really didn't know what being born again was. I didn't know that Jesus said, "Be born again."

     When I was 24 years old someone asked me if I had ever said the Salvation prayer? I responded that, "I believe and was a Christian." After awhile they asked me again, "if I had ever said the Salvation prayer from my heart?" "No I hadn't," so I got down on my knees and really said it from my heart. 

     I said, "I love you Jesus, I really do. I know that you died on the cross for my sins.........my sins. Me, you did it for me and my sins. I'm sorry for those sins. You were innocent but I'm not, I have been a sinner all my life. Please forgive me of those sins and I want you to be real to me. I want you to be close to me and be my Lord and Savior. Thank you for coming into my life and being my Savior. In Jesus name Amen."

     From that moment on Jesus became really real to me and I started to know Him in a special way. No longer was He just some far away person to pray to in times of trouble but someone to pray to all the time as my best friend. Daily I got closer and closer to Him. Right now He is as real to me as you are.
