A "Warm Welcome" to this new Bible study.  I pray that it is really a blessing to you as you grow in the Lord's Word.  I  would like you to reread these few paragraphs below again, then go on and enjoy your bible study.  May the Lord Bless you richly in your spiritual walk with Him, and may you feel His love.

     When you do this kind of Bible Study, you will begin to awaken and greatly increase your spiritual growth.  You see, I don’t want you to just achieve head knowledge, but more importantly, that your "spiritual knowledge" and "spiritual growth" develop.
 Wherever you are spiritually, I desire to draw and move that part of you to be challenged to a higher level.

    Never study the Word of God without reaching within yourself to be challenged to a "deeper spiritual level." Always push  and prod yourself to grow more and more spiritually.  Never  let yourself be complacent and satisfied with where you are at in your spiritual walk with the Lord.  Read and study your  Bible like a hungry person who hasn’t had a meal in a long time.

    Remember this saying, "If you are not spiritually growing, you are spiritually dying." That includes every area of your life!

.   John 3:3-7   Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see  the kingdom of God.  Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a  man be born when he is old?  Can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born?

     Jesus answered, verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the  kingdom of God.  That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.  Marvel not that I  said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

     Be born again, what does that mean to you?  Do you know  anything about being born again?  It’s what Jesus said here in these verses that we must do, but what does being born again mean" Let’s pray and ask the Lord for wisdom and complete  understanding as we get into these passages."

     In John 3:3 we notice that Jesus is talking to Nicodemus, a  religious leader about eternal life. Nicodemus was a very  important man belonging to a powerful Jewish counsel.  He as a Pharisee from many generations of Pharisees.  He was raised to have full knowledge of the Old Testament teachings.  Nicodemus knew that the Kingdom would be ruled by God,  restored on earth and incorporate God’s people. The Hebrew Talmud and scrolls would be taught to all men belonging to this Pharisee sect.

     Nicodemus was afraid of being discovered by his fellow Pharisees so he made an appointment to see Jesus at night undercover of darkness.  He was attracted to Jesus because of his moral character and amazing miracles.  His spirit craved answers to some burning questions.  Nicodemus wanted very much to earn about the teachings of Jesus but he was afraid of getting caught so he had to risk it at night.

     Jesus told Nicodemus that he wouldn’t be part of the Kingdom of God unless he was born again.  Nicodemus had to become personally born again in order to receive eternal life in heaven.  This was a whole new concept for the people of Nicodemus time
period to learn.  This was not Old Testament teaching but a new concept.  In order to enter the gates of Heaven a person needs to be born again.  "Jesus said it!" Be born again!

     I Cor. 12:13  For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body,  whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

     It’s not a city, government, national, rational or ethnic issue.  What faith you have or what church you go to won’t help you  either. Even if you have worked a whole life time in a church being a good person won’t help you enter heaven. This is an issue of the condition of your heart.  Where do you stand with your relationship with the Lord? Are you born again? There are only two requirements, repentance of sins and spiritual
rebirth.

    Titus 3:5 Not by works or righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.

     Now when Jesus talks of water, it refers to the cleansing action of God’s Holy Spirit.  We can’t enter Heaven by living a better life but by being spiritually reborn.

     When we have salvation, all of our sins are washed away with the spiritual water of the Holy Ghost.  When we recognize Jesus as Lord and Savior we receive the free gift of Salvation.  Not by works but only by accepting Jesus into our lives we can be born
again.  The Holy Spirit continually renews our hearts as we  daily follow the Lord. 

     God sent us his Son Jesus to die on the cross and the third day be resurrected into our living Savior.  Jesus asked that the Holy Spirit be sent to wash away sins through the "Spiritual water of Being Born Again," and steadily refreshes us in his love.

     Nicodemus was familiar with the Old Testament passages that  speak about a new heart and a new spirit but didn’t understand that this passage was talking about being born again.

    Ezekiel 36:25-27 Then will I sprinkle clean water upon you,  and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you.  A new heart also will I give you, and new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.  And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in  my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them.

     "Spirit" represents the Holy Spirit in this union with the spiritual water making this a cleansing action, cleansing us of our sins.  God is three persons, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.  God became Jesus, a human divine man in order to die for our sins as the ultimate sacrifice.  He arose from the dead to offer salvation to all people. With Spiritual renewal and rebirth  through the act of being born again we can have this Salvation through Jesus Christ.

     Luke 24:49 And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued  with power from on high.

      Acts 2:1-4  And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place.  And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house were there were sitting.  And there appeared
unto them cloven tongues like as a fire, and it sat upon each of them.  And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.

     When Jesus’ physical presence left the earth, then according to  his promise the Holy Spirit came and spread out his presence among all people.  Who ever will accept Jesus into their life as their Savior and Lord will be born again. 

     Your heart, mind, will, and emotions all change as you accept being born again in Jesus. Jesus becomes as real to you as the next person that you set your eyes on. He becomes that real, that alive.  The precious reality is that Jesus really is alive and will soon be coming back for all of his born again children. Will you be one of them?

     In the Old Testament only special chosen individuals were empowered with the Holy Spirit's power.  Now thanks to the fulfillment of Jesus’ promise, all believers have the power of  the Holy Spirit through rebirth.

    John 14:16-17 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever.  Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with ;you, and shall be in you.

     Romans 8:9,14 But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you.  Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.  For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.

     Again in John 3:7 Jesus said, "Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again."

     Don’t be surprised that he said that we should all be born again.  Jesus loves us and wants us to rejoice in his love and free gift of Salvation.  Nicodemous really wanted to learn and came away with more than knowledge, he came away with a changed born again heart.  He had a much deeper understanding of God and became spiritually born again.

     Unless we are born again we cannot be a part of the Kingdom  of God.  God can change the people that we feel are unreachable and we are never too old to ask Jesus into our hearts.  If we Believe:

     John 3:16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

     If we are ready to acknowledge and confess our sins, knowing that Jesus died on the cross for those sins, than we are ready to face our Savior.  When we ask for forgiveness of those sins than we can have eternity in heaven with him.  God is a good God to give us his Son Jesus Christ and heaven will be our reward  when we have been "Born Again."

    Jesus is reaching out to you with all of the love that he has. When you realize that you are lost to eternal death without Jesus, you will have eternal life after saying this prayer.  Pray with all of the love in your heart.  If you just read the words out loud, they won’t have any real meaning for you.  You have to say them crying from your heart with faith.  The choice is up to you to make.  Where are you going to go when you die, heaven or hell?  Seriously, don’t take that for granted.      Lord Jesus, I’ve been a sinner for as long as I can remember. I never knew the joy that I could have by accepting you into my life.  I know that you hear my prayers.  I need you to be my Savior.

     You have always been there loving me, throughout everything in my life.  Forgive me for all of my sins.  I am so sorry for the way I have acted, and the way that I have behaved towards you and others.  You died on the cross for me.  You loved me that much, how can I ever thank you enough for loving me like that.

     Forgive me for all the things that I have done.  Please come into my life to wash away all of my sins.  I desire eternal life with you.  Be my Savior and Lord of all of my life.  I want to be in heaven with you for eternity and feel your love.  I worship you and thank you Jesus, with ever bit of gratitude and love that I  can feel towards you. I love you Lord Jesus, with "all of my heart."

     If you have said this prayer from the bottom of your heart, and have sincerely asked Jesus to become your Savior, than you have been born again.  Rejoice with the knowledge that the angels in heaven are rejoicing with you.  This is truly wonderful

     Now there is something else I want you to do, find a good Evangelical Spirit filled Church and start attending the services.  Just don’t stay home and let what’s happened to you in your  life fall by the way side.

     Read your bible too as if it were a wonderful meal and your a  starving person.  Read it as if you can’t get enough biblical food fast enough to satisfy your hunger.  Grow in his word and may  God Bless You.  Take all of the joy that you have and release
it by telling  other people about your good news. Tell them that Jesus Christ is now your Savior and  Lord.  You've "Being Born again in Jesus Christ, the Messiah." Praise the Lord! Eternity  in heaven is awaiting you with the Lord.  Jesus is real and he has a real love for you!
