Question:

Dear Sister Diana,
     There is a lot of really good people in this world that believe in God or a form of him in their own way.  All over the world there are people of various religious faiths and persuasions, they just believe in God, not Jesus. Are all of these really good people "not" going to go to Heaven because they don’t believe in Jesus?

     I can’t believe that a loving God would send all of these people to Hell, would He?  Simply because they don’t believe as we Christians do about Jesus being the Son of God, would He not let them into Heaven? What’s your answer?

Answer:

Dear Mr. O.    in Utah U.S.A.,
     Thank you for your interesting and challenging question.  I hope that I can reply with as much love and compassion that I can.  I’m am more sorry about the answer than you know.  I love the Lord and people so much, and I know how sad the Lord must feel when he considers all of the people that won’t be going to Heaven.  Everyone has a free choice don’t they?  This is what the Bible says about "good people."

   1 John 1:8-10 If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.  If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word in not in us.

    Ezekiel 33:11 Say unto them, As I live, saithe the Lord God, I have no pleasure in the death of the wicked; but that the wicked turn from his way and live: turn ye, turn ye from your evil ways; for why will ye die, O house of Israel?

     Can’t you feel the pain and the hurt that the Lord is feeling about the lost people, the lost sinners.  Why would they choose death instead of life in eternity with Jesus.  They won’t be gaining the free gift of salvation He offers, simply because they deny that Jesus is the Son of God.  If someone gave them free money or jewels they would take it now wouldn’t they?  So why not the free gift of Salvation that the truth, and belief in Jesus Christ as the Son of God brings.  Here’s more of what the Bible has to say:

    John 1:1-4, 12 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.  The same was in the beginning with God.  All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.  In him was life; and the life was the light of men. (The Word was Jesus, the Son of God.)

      But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:

     John 1:14,18 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.  No man hath seen God at any time; the only begotten Son, which is in the bosom of the Father, he hath declared him.

     Luke 3:22, And the Holy Ghost descended in a bodily shape like a dove upon him, and a voice came from heaven, which said, Thou art my beloved Son; in thee I am well pleased.

Matthew 4:17,            Mark 1:11,             John 1:33-34

   John 8:42 Jesus said unto them, If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me.

     John 11:25-26 Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, through he were dead, yet shall he live: And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.  Believest thou this?

    John 14:6  Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.

     "All Bible scripture leads us to the basic truth that Jesus is the Son of God."  No man is going to go to Heaven without accepting that belief.  Our path is through Jesus Christ to the Father God, and "no other way leads us to Him."  Our reward in believing in Jesus is eternal life in Heaven with Him.  All I can say is…………. Praise the Lord! Thank you Jesus so much for giving us the gift of Salvation!
