   Welcome to my recipe section  of our family "Diana Gray Ministries" recipes on "CANDIES."  I sincerely pray that we can be a real blessing to you and your family.  After you have checked out our recipes,  you might like to come back to see the rest of this spirit-filled ministry.  May the good Lord Bless you as you enjoy these recipes.

     MATT. 14:19-21 And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the grass, and took the five loaves, and the two fishes, and looking up to heaven, he blessed, and brake, and gave the loaves to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.  And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the fragments that remained twelve baskets full.  And they that had eaten were about five thousand men, beside women and children.

    Jesus is a loving Lord who really cares for His children.  You are special and He wants to care for you too.  He helped and fed  thousands of people that wonderful day and He can feed you too.  When you put you faith and trust in Him, he will get you through what ever troubles and trials that you are having.

     Faith, prayer and trust are the answers to our troubles when we have Jesus as our Savior and Lord.  Follow Him and you will be well fed, not just in you body but in your spiritual heart as well.  Jesus really loves you.  Your special and your life is important to Him. Enjoy these recipes, they were an inspiration  from the Lord.
 


 
"HEALTHY" JEWISH HALVAH CANDY

2 1/2 cups of raw sesame seeds
1/3 cup of honey
1 cup of tahini ( ground up sesame seeds made into a paste like peanut butter)
If you don't want to make the tahini, just buy it at the health food store.

     Lightly grind up 3/4 of the sesame seeds until fine but not like peanut butter.  Combine all of the ingredients and press into a lightly greased pan.  Cover, and cool well for a few hours in the refrigerator helping to solidify the sweet.  Cut into small squares.  Tastes great served with herb or regular tea.  I really love this candy and believe me it doesn't last very long around my house.
     Sesame seeds are an excellent souce of protein 18%.  They are high in calcium, fiber, unsaturated fats, riboflavin,thiamin, niacin.  It's been used since biblical times and is a great healthy snack candy.  How many candies can make that claim?


 
HEALTHY 
CANDY OF ZION

1 cup Pecans or Walnuts, chopped
1 cup Dates, pitted & chopped
3 tsp. Orange rind, freshly shredded
½ tsp. Sea Salt or iodized Salt
1 tsp. Vanilla
½ cup Honey
 ¼ cup sesame seeds

     Mix up the ingredients well and form firmly into  1" balls.  (You may need to add more Honey or nuts meats depending upon the consistency.)  Now roll the balls into coconut and set aside upon wax paper or foil to set.  Cover  and wrap with saran wrap, foil or wax paper and set aside in your refrigerator.  Now your ready to eat, freeze or give to friends.  High nutrition and energy level!  These are "really" delicious!  What better candy could you give to you children than these "Candy of Zion"!


 
SWEET ZION SEED HEALTH BARS

2 cups Sesame Seeds (salted)
2 cups Sunflower Seeds (salted)
2 cups Coconut flacks
2 cups Cashews (salted
1 cup Honey

     Mix all of the ingredients until well blended.  Pour into a square pan, covering with foil and chill for a few hours until set firm.  Cut into bars and wrap each in syran wrap or foil and refrigerate.  Great tasting snack candy and yet it's bursting full of vitamins and nutrients.  Sneak this one on the children and you'll be happy knowing that you gave them a candy that is really good for them.


 
SWEET WHEAT HEALTH TREATS

2 cups Wheat Berries, pre-cooked and well drained
(You can substitute any pre-cooked grain here.  Rice might be good!)
2 cups Dates, pitted and chopped ( You could substitute raisins)
1 ½  Nuts, chopped fine
½ cup Sesame seeds
1/3  cup Honey
½ tsp. Sea Salt or iodized Salt
3 tbs. Freshly grated orange rind
4 tbs. Peanut butter
1 tsp. Vanilla
     Mix all of the ingredients together and form into 1 " balls ( If they are too thin or sticky add more chopped nuts.  If too thick add more honey.) Make a hole inside of the "Wheat Treat" balls and poke a pecan, walnut or almond nut down deep inside. 
    Next you roll these  "mouth watering creations" in shredded sweetened coconut which has been pre-toasted in the oven.  (You could roll them in finely chopped nuts instead).  I would say freeze them but you will eat them up before they ever get that far.  Enjoy!

 
PEANUT BUTTER CANDY SLICES

1 cup Peanut Butter, creamy
¾ cup Pecan nuts, chopped
1 ¼ tsp. Vanilla
1 cup of Raisins, chopped
¼ cup Honey

     Mix all of the ingredients together.  If not firm enough, add more nuts or if too firm add more Honey.  Form into 3 long rolls.  Roll in finely chopped peanuts, wrap and chill until firm.  Slice  into ½ " slices and serve.  Wonderful taste!


 
SUNFLOWER SEED CANDY

½ cup Peanut Butter
1/3 cup Honey
1 cup Sunflower salted, shelled
1 cup Sesame Seeds
¼ cup Raisins

     Mix all of the ingredients together. If not firm enough, add more nuts or if too firm add more Honey.  Form into 1" balls.  Roll the sweet balls into shredded sweet coconut until all of the stickiness is gone.  Cover, chill until firm and then enjoy!

Proverbs 15:15 ...but he that is of a merry heart hath a continual feast.

    In bibical times people ate foods that were for the most part, still in their natural state.  A diet full of fruits, grains, vegetables, herbs, seeds, nuts and beans will give us better nutrition.  Better nutrition and the Lord,  will help us make it through whatever trials, and troubles that come our way.

    If you listen to the Word of God and follow a better eating pattern, then your bodies will be better able to with stand the onslot of worldly problems.  Your minds and bodies will be more in tune with the will of God, as you follow His Word for your life.

Daniel 1:12,15 Prove thy servants, I beseech thee, ten days; and let them give us pulse to eat, and water to drink.  And at the end of ten days their countenances appeared fairer and fatter in flesh than all the children which did eat the protion of the king's meat. (Pulse is vegtables)

1 Kings 13:15 Then he said unto him, Come home with me, and eat bread.

     Modern science and the medical comunities recognize fruits, vegtables and grains as being health.  Modern diets with their high grease content, and convient foods tend to be lacking in proper nutrution.  If we look in the Word of God we can see in many places where the Lord would have us eat healthier diets.  Always try to think before you cook a meal.  Ask yourself, "Is this meal nutritious and healthy for my body? Can I fix and eat something better?"

     If God's Word about food was valid in biblical times, then it's still valid today.  People can live longer, healthier and feel happier when their bodies are in the best of health.  Youthfulness can be obtained by enjoying a better food life style.   When we listen to the Word of God our bodies, (mind, will and emotions) will become healther.  Come strengthen your emmune system with healthier eating, as told to us by the Word of the Lord.  Enjoy these recipes and better health.
