"What Does The Word Of God
Have To Say About Food Storage?"

ACTS 11:27-29 And in  these days came prophets from Jerusalem unto Antioch.  And there stood up one of them named Agabus, and signified by the Spirit that there should be great dearth throughout all the world: which came to pass in the days of Claudius Caesar.  Then the disciples, every man according to his ability, determined to send relief unto the brethren which dwelt in Judaea:  (Dearth, drought)

Here is a good example of a little church helping an established church.  Praise the Lord!  Just think about it, how God must have blessed that little church.  It just goes to show that no matter what your size church is, the Lord can bless you mightily when you bless others. In spite of your circumstances. If your eyes are upon Jesus, the Lord will be with you!

When you walk spiritually in strong faith, you will be blessed one way or the other.  The Lord is our helper and provider.  To Him we will put our faith and trust in.  No matter what troubles our eyes see or how we feel, we need to trust Him.  We need to put our faith and trust in Him, to help us through our trials.

GEN. 41:47-49 And in the seven plenteous years the earth brought forth by handfuls.  And he gathered up all the food of the seven years, which were in the land of Egypt, and laid up the food in the cities: the food of the field, which was round about every city, laid he up in the same.  And Joseph gathered corn as the sand of the sea, very much, until he left numbering; for it was without number.

GEN. 41:53-57 And the seven years of plenteousness, that was in the land of Egypt, were ended.  And the sevens years of dearth was in all lands; but in all the land of Egypt there was bread.  And when all the land of Egypt was famished, the people cried to Pharaoh for bread: and Pharaoh said unto all the Egyptians, Go unto Joseph; what he saith to you, do.

And the famine was over all the face of the earth: and Joseph opened all the storehouses, and sold unto the Egyptians; and the famine waxed sore in the land of Egypt.  And all countries came into Egypt to Joseph for to buy corn; because that the famine was so sore in all lands.

This famine was terrible, but any famine is grievous if people suffer and die, or are hurt in any way.  Bless their hearts!  This is a good example as to why we should always have food in storage.  You never know what will come around the corner and it’s just plain smart to be prepared.  You know as well as I do, that a portion of the world is in very grievous famine right now as it is.  As you finish storing up what your family will be needing, then try storing up extra to help others.  Try to always be a blessing and help others as the Lord has helped you.

PROV. 6:6-15 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:  Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,  Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.  How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? When wilt thou arise out of thy sleep?  Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.  A naughty person, a wicked man, walketh with a froward mouth.  He winketh with his eyes, he speaketh with his feet, he teacheth with his fingers; Frowardness is in his heart, he deviseth mischief continually; he soweth discord.  Therefore shall his calamity come suddenly; suddenly shall he be broken without remedy.

This is the Word of God, but you get the idea here.  People should "not be lazy. "During times of plenty you should be wise and store up food for times of lack. You're not storing up gold and wealth, but food for your family.  How much wiser and sound thinking is that?  Job lay offs,  sicknesses,  bad weather and storms not to mention national problems.  You never know what troubles and trials will come, and we should all be good stewards of the resources that the Good Lord gives to us.

The Lord is our provider, yes.  What if He is providing for you right now for a time when you will need it later? Good question, huh?  You will have to seek the wisdom of the Lord as to what to do.  I am only giving you this information and recipes because it’s what the Lord told "me" to do.  I really care about what happens to His beloved children, and that means you.  Information such as I have, I give to you.  "Not for commercial use" but for "individual families."  May you be blessed!

PS.  34:9-10 O fear the Lord, ye his saints: for there is no want to them that fear him.  The young lions do lack, and suffer hunger: but they that seek the Lord shall not want any good thing.

We will not have everything that we want, but as we praise the Lord in our times of need we will be blessed.  We don’t always get the answers the way we expect but sometimes in unexpected ways.  Our deepest needs are "spiritual," and from there things are added upon us as gifts from the Lord.  "Spiritual nourishment" even in dire poverty, will sustain us and lift us up.     Jesus is the answer, the only answer to our problems.  He cares, he really does!  Jesus loves you and knows what you are going through right now and the future.

God allows hardships to come into our lives to help us grow more dependent upon Him, but He never forsakes His children.  Our help is in the Lord. On Him is our strength and true happiness.  You need to know that you need Him more than you need your desires fulfilled. He will carry us through our problems and sustain us as we learn to lean more and more upon Jesus. We need to keep our eyes upon the Lord.
